In Memory of Jean Chow King (周婉君校友) We were deeply saddened by the passing of our alumna Jean Chow King. She was born on March 28, 1944 and passed away on May 29, 2024 in Southern California. Both pharmacists, she and her husband together owned and operated a pharmacy before they retired. Her classmates at Wan Hua remember Jean as an A student in their class. A Lashio native, she was a boarder at SEC (St. Emilies' Convent). She was well-loved by the SJA Sisters that ran SEC. An avid reader, she particularly liked to read Chinese martial arts novels. She also received education in Taiwan and the U.S. She was well-versed in both Chinese and English. She had compassion for people who are not doing well in their lives. For the past few years, she had donated generously to the poor and needy people in Burma through our fundraising campaigns. While she was fighting the disease that eventually took her life, she shared her concern with her friends about those who are sufferering in the deadly civil war back home.
